Canada 150! Mooney Bay

The Mooney Bay Project was funded by city of Ottawa as part of the Canada 150 Initiative and was televised on Giver TV.  The complete playground represents the 10 provinces. As a Canadian manufacturer, Blue Imp was proud to have been awarded the designs for Nova Scotia and Manitoba.

A vibrant farm theme was chosen to represent the agriculture-rich Manitoba. This custom design evokes the big red barns of bygone days and provides diverse climbing and sliding activities. A freestanding 8-foot tall chicken climber provides unique clambering fun for a wide age range.  A Whirl and Twirl overhead supplies upper body fun and represents the turbines of machinery used historically in harvesting.

The eye-catching red-and-white lighthouse complete with a light, custom panels and a spiral slide was chosen to represent the maritime province of Nova Scotia.  The Turtle climbing boulder gives a nod to the Nova Scotia’s rugged coastline with insect and fossil elements embedded into the rock for sensory and learning experience.
